Trusting and Loving God

Jesus, I no longer want what I want. I want what you want for me. I love you, praise your and adore you. If I may be worthy to help you with anything in your plan I will do my best to do your will. I love you so very much. Thank you for everything. In Jesus Christ's name I pray, amen.
Ezekiel 2:8—3:4

The Lord GOD said to me: As for you, son of man, obey me when I speak to you: be not rebellious like this house of rebellion, but open your mouth and eat what I shall give you. It was then I saw a hand stretched out to me, in which was a written scroll which he unrolled before me. It was covered with writing front and back, and written on it was: Lamentation and wailing and woe! He said to me: Son of man, eat what is before you; eat this scroll, then go, speak to the house of Israel. So I opened my mouth and he gave me the scroll to eat. Son of man, he then said to me, feed your belly and fill your stomach with this scroll I am giving you. I ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. He said: Son of man, go now to the house of Israel, and speak my words to them.

I am no expert, but I try to spend as much time with God as I can. I try to live a life of constant prayer, and it seems to me that God gives us all something to say and do. We all have a part of his plan. My part is no where as big and important as Ezekiel's but I have my part none the less. Owning that part and doing my best with it brings me such great joy. Why, because for the most part it is loving (the loving of God and all I meet) and loving brings happiness. I am not always the most popular man around but I know that in following God I will be happy and safe, and that is really all I need.

Matthew 18:1-5, 10, 12-14

The disciples approached Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?” He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me. “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father. What is your opinion? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray? And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray. In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost.”

When I read this now I think of my children. They rely on me and their mother for everything. They trust that we will love them and give them the best we have. We don't always give them what they want but they are humble and trusting. They get mad and let us know but we choose to do what is best for them. God is the same way. I know some may be thinking, "Well God didn't prevent ____ from happening, and it was horrible." Yes, horrible things happen and rest assured that that there are plenty of horrible things that God does prevent from happening, but what God does allow to happen is for a greater good. We can't see that because our view is so small. We see and comprehend what is in our live. God can see the big play for eternity and we need to trust in that. To be humble and love like a child is a way of happiness. Children for the most part don't worry. They trust that much in their parents and that is how God wishes us to trust him. It's hard but the more I find I can let go the more happy I am and the the more love I feel.

And that's all I got to say about that.
